PureVision Unveils New Research Laboratory at Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
June 11, 2006Fort Lupton, CO: PureVision Technology, Inc., a leader in developing biorefining technologies, hosted a ceremony to mark the opening of a new laboratory at their Fort Lupton, Colorado headquarters. PureVision will use the new research and development laboratory to advance biomass recovery operations, including developing new techniques to separate and purify biomass product streams. The new laboratory will complement technical activities being undertaken at PureVision’s main laboratory at the Hazen Research facility in Golden, Colorado where the PureVision biomass fractionation equipment is located. The completion of the new 2,100 square foot laboratory is a milestone for PureVision as plans for this facility have been in the works for several years.
On Friday, July 7, 2006, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at PureVision headquarters to kick off the opening of the newly constructed laboratory. The ceremony began with a presentation by Carl Lehrburger, a PureVision founder and director, discussing the history of PureVision and the Fort Lupton Industrial Center where the new lab is located. Next, PureVision’s President and CEO Ed Lehrburger gave a presentation on the PureVision technology and the importance of developing and commercializing the company’s unique cellulosic biorefining technology.
“The PureVision technology is a carbon-neutral process we are scaling up to recover underutilized biomass and help achieve energy independence for the United States,” he said.
Mr. Lehrburger further explained that the PureVision technology is a novel and clean method of extracting sugars from biomass for the production of ethanol, a “greener” transportation fuel compared to gasoline. He also discussed how these same sugars can be used to produce a wide range of other industrial chemicals and products.
Following his discussion of PureVision’s biomass fractionation technology, Mr. Lehrburger introduced David Hiller, a staff member with Colorado Senator Ken Salazar’s office. Mr. Hiller read a letter from the U.S. Senator addressed to PureVision. The letter congratulated PureVision on the opening of the new laboratory and noted the importance of cellulosic ethanol in achieving American energy independence.
Next, Ed Lehrburger introduced U.S. Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave. Congresswoman Musgrave represents the 4th Colorado district, where PureVision headquarters are located. The Congresswoman stated, “Something very exciting is happening in Fort Lupton”. Her encouraging talk addressed the importance of clean renewable technologies and spoke of the many benefits of the PureVision technology. She added that promising new technologies, like the PureVision process will not only infuse the agricultural economy, but will contribute to the environmental and economic health of America.
Following the four speakers, Ed Lehrburger led the actual ribbon cutting and a tour of the new laboratory.
