Among other duties, he is responsible for technology advancement and assessment programs. Dr. Wingerson holds a Doctorate of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in nuclear engineering. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1974 with positions as professor of physics (Air Force Institute of Technology), Director of the Plasma Physics Research Laboratory (Wright-Patterson AFB), and Deputy Director for Engineering at the Air Force West Coast Study Facility.
